This Mb-2 bass features a semi-hollow 1 piece swamp ash body (rare to find these days) with a stunning grain pattern, and a black walnut top, with the f-hole feature and faux tortoiseshell binding. The 34” scale neck is made from aged birdseye maple, which has a really nice amber/caramel color to it which is all natural (no stain is used) lending it a cool rustic quality. The headstock has a rosewood overlay on it, tying it in color-wise to the walnut top. The lined fretless fingerboard is Macasser ebony, with maple strips inlaid and sanded perfectly flush, for an ultra smooth feel. It also has the “integrated thumbrest” feature which floats about 1/8’ above the top of the body. Strings are La Bella 760n, a steel flatwound with a thin black nylon outer wrap. They have a beautiful warm tone with the nylon wrap softening the top end of the sound, yet still have an assertive attack due to the steel core. A quality made Access Stage Three gig bag is included.
