Mouse 30 Walnut Short Scale Fretted Bass #1607

Mouse 30 Walnut Short Scale Fretted Bass #1607
Mouse 30 Walnut #1607. This unique bass features a semi-hollow swamp ash body, and an eastern walnut top. It’s very unique in that it has curly figure it in, and plain grain. This is from the lower part of the tree, which gets stressed from movement (such as wind), creating the compressions that become curly figure. As you move up the tree, the curly figure lessens. So it is truly quite an organic and natural piece, with beautiful color variation. Binding is faux tortoiseshell, made from celluloid nitrate.
The 30” scale neck is also made from black walnut, and features an Indian rosewood fingerboard, with the integrated thumbrest feature. The frets are a tiny mandolin size, and offer a low action that is very easy to play. The frets are made of nickel silver (a softer metal alloy), and due to their tiny size, do not impart a metallic tone. The strings are La Bella 760n, a steel flat wound with a black nylon outer wrapping. This wrapping is very smooth, and also protects the frets from wear, allowing a small fret size that will have a very long lifespan.
A custom made, form fit case fits the bass like a hand in a glove, and is made locally by G&G cases in Los Angeles, California
