Mouse 30f Koa#1540. This unique bass features a semi-hollow alder body, and a premium flame koa drop top. The drop top models have the top wood steamed and then vacuum pressed onto the body, which allows for a generous arm contour. This particular koa is from old stock that I obtained about 15 years ago, I have been saving it for special projects. It is rare in that it has a deep root beer color to it (not to mention the other hues) and a dramatic 3D quality. The 30” scale neck is from eastern black walnut with an Indian rosewood fingerboard (also from old stock, 20+ years) and features the integrated thumbrest option. The tiny mandolin frets put only a small amount of metal into the string path, keeping the tone full and warm. Since the La Bella 760n strings have a thin nylon outer wrap, they do not wear the frets like regular roundwounds. A deluxe quality gig bag is included.
