This Deep 4 bass features a reclaimed western red cedar wood top that is 400+ years old, with a semi-hollow alder body. The finish has multiple colors of hand applied stain to give an appearance similar to that of an older stringed instrument (such as a bass or cello). The finish is slightly rustic, similar to a French polish, only more satin, it is very low sheen. The binding is a dark faux tortoiseshell. The 5 pc. laminate 34” scale neck is made from black walnut with ebony strips. The fingerboard is ebony, with side dots right on the major positions (F,G,A etc..) and has the integrated thumbrest feature. The headstock is from macasser ebony, with binding matching the body. A locally made custom form fit case is included.
