Solid 4 #1657. This Solid 4 features a 1 pc. swamp ash body with a translucent vintage blond nitrocellulose lacquer finish. The 34” scale neck is made from eastern rock maple, and has some very fine (meaning subtle) curl figure in it. The fingerboard is Brazilian rosewood, with vintage sized nickel frets.

The aluminum hardware is all original design and made in house, the bridge is set almost a 1/4” into the body for direct connection with the wood. The aluminum bridge saddle housing sits on two location pins anchoring it to the bridge plate, so there are no moving parts or adjustment screws- the bridge saddle in essence connects directly with the body. This produces a strong fundamental, and plenty of sustain. Controls integrated into the bridge design are volume and pickup balance.

The pickups are also made in house, and are a vintage single coil wind with alnico 2 rod magnets. The pickup coils of reverse wind/reverse polarity, so they create a humbucker when used together.
