Mouse 30-5f #1480 (E to C stringing). Here we have a lovely Mouse 30-5 fretted bass, featuring a semi-hollow swamp ash body, with an ash top (sans binding). The 30” scale neck is made from black walnut, and the fingerboard is from aged Indian rosewood as is the matching bridge. The frets are tiny mandolin size, for easy playing and warm tone., and the fingerboard edge is well rolled to give the feeling of a vintage instrument. The ash on this bass is very light (in fact the bass weighs only a mere 5.5 lbs) so yields a warm but very clear tone. Perfect for chordal work and double stops, if one is so inclined…..The high C strings are made custom to my spec (from La Bella) with extra silk in the winding, which helps to keep this string very full sounding, so that when you play through the entire range of the bass the tone is consistent. A deluxe form fit hardshell case (made locally in Los Angeles) rounds out the package.
